Floor Paint

Floor paint here splits mainly into two systems: single-pack polyurethane or alkyd paints such as Lakeland, Johnstone's Flor-Tred, Crown Epimac and Macpherson, which go straight from the tin with no mixing and suit domestic or light commercial floors, and 2-pack epoxy, which mixes a resin with a hardener for a much harder, more chemical-resistant finish built for workshop and industrial floors under heavier traffic and forklift or trolley wheel wear.

Single-pack floor paint like Lakeland's Polyurethane range or Johnstone's Flor-Tred is easier to work with: no mixing, no pot life to race against, straightforward to reapply when it wears. That convenience comes with a ceiling on durability, though, it suits a domestic garage, a light-traffic workshop, or a maintenance repaint, but won't stand up to constant vehicle traffic or harsh chemical cleaning the way a 2-pack system will. The 2K GPL Epoxy Floor Paint here is the step up: mixed from a resin and hardener just before use, it cures into a far harder, more chemically resistant surface for genuinely heavy-duty floors, at the cost of a limited working time once mixed.

If slip resistance matters more than which base paint you use, there are two ways to get it. Rustoleum's Supergrip and Coo-Var's Suregrip are ready-made anti-slip floor paints with grit already built in, which is the simplest option if you're starting from bare floor. Anti Slip Glass Spheres, on the other hand, are an additive broadcast into any of the standard floor paints while still wet, which lets you add grip to a paint you've already chosen for its colour or finish rather than being limited to the anti-slip products' own range.

Tygris Line Marking Paint Spray is a different product from the full-coverage floor paints above, worth calling out so it isn't confused with them: it's designed for marking out bays, walkways and safety zones on an existing floor, not for coating the whole surface. If you need both a new floor finish and marked-out lines on top of it, you'll want one of the full floor paints plus the line marking spray, rather than expecting one product to do both jobs.
