Rustoleum CombiPrimer Anti-Rust Primer - Grey - 750ml

Rust-Oleum CombiPrimer Anti-Corrosion Primer is ideally suited for new or properly prepared rusted steel surfaces, offering enhanced protection against corrosion. Designed primarily for industrial or challenging environments, Rust-Oleum CombiColor Original typically eliminates the need for a primer in most standard projects. For optimal results, pair with Rust-Oleum CombiColor Original Satin or Rust-Oleum CombiColor Original Gloss. Rust-Oleum CombiPrimer Adhesion Primer is also available for metal surfaces with adhesion challenges.

Preparation

To achieve the best outcome, ensure surfaces are sound, clean, dry, and free from dirt, dust, or other contaminants. Where necessary, use alkaline cleaning agents or high-pressure steam cleaning methods.

• Remove all loose or peeling paint and any flaking rust using a wire brush.
• Sand down intact coatings to promote adhesion.

Application

It is recommended to test Rust-Oleum CombiPrimer Anti-Corrosion Primer on a small area first to confirm its suitability. Always adhere to the manufacturer’s guidance as detailed on the packaging.

• Stir thoroughly before and during use, ensuring any settled pigment in the tin is fully incorporated.
• Apply using a high-quality synthetic brush or microfibre roller for the best finish.
• In most cases, a single coat is sufficient. For projects requiring a significant colour change, additional coats may be necessary, allowing a 4-hour drying time between coats and before applying a topcoat.
• Thinning is not generally required, but brushes and rollers can be cleaned using Rust-Oleum CombiColor Thinner.
• Recoat if required after 2 hours
• Red for dark coloured topcoats
